Coating Line setting up

Along with customer's demand and inquiries, there is more and more water proof process needed for semi-finished PCB. Since there is no professional factory to do the conformal coating, PSI and its customer decided to set up a coating line.

The concerns of coating line setting up are :

  1. How to do accurate coating with component protected.
  2. Coating thickness criteria & easy visual checking.
  3. Automatic production and status tracing.

To analysis by accurate process:

  1. The advantage of imported machine from US (PVA#6000) is that it has big market share, equipment matures, quick service from agents.
  2. The coating nozzle from original manufacturer can do coating accurately, and meet the target of production demand and easy maintenance.

To analysis by coating thickness:

the spray material not to drop, easy to set up a coating thickness criteria. And no need to mask the component manually in order to protect the components. It can save the labor time, and reach mass production by using circulated conveyer .

To analysis from automatic production:

we can trace the production time and condition by production resume to meet customers’ requirement.

The conformal coating room is designed to be an individual space, and paved with Conductive floor which was made by Swedish manufacturer, Tarkett iQ Toro SC, and having conductivity of 104-106ohm. We set up a completed automatic circulated conveyer, to reduce labor time of moving products. To start the spaying coating with PVA machine, goes into tunnel oven to bake the semi-finished PCB 90% dry, then goes to conveyer to cool down. To repeat the same process as the first side, the conformal coating is finally completed.

Combining the above advantages, coating line can quickly and accurately execute conformal coating process (for both silica gel & Acrylic gel ). With less labor time, auto-control production procedure and quality, we can make the win-win success with all PSI customers.
