Company Trip of PSI-CN in 2013
Two-day Journey to TsingYune Cowboy Yu Drifting
NiuYuzui Tourism Scenic Area
Writer:Mark
We had been expecting and expecting before June actually came. It was the time when our long-expected journey finally came. In the morning, God forgot our activity and it rained ceaselessly, but it didn’t decrease our passion for the travel. All the members came to the company gate in early day with good mood to catch the bus. None of us liked to be left out by the buses and missed the good journey.
Our buses were running through the Tsing Yune expressway. Tsing Yune was known as the backyard Garden of Pearl River Delta (one of the excellent tourist cities in China). It kept raining while the buses were running quickly. The water in the puddles were splashed to all directions, or formed a mini waterfall between wheels and road. All of us appreciated it, while we really hoped it could stop raining.
Three hours had passed, and it seemed that we needed to have lunch. After a while, the tour guide started to speak with his microphone, “Attention, everyone. You can taste the delicious food five minutes later." At this time, all the peple were in high spirits under the reminding of the guide, because we knew we were close to the first destination - Cowboy Yu Drifting. The bus slowed down, and we could appreciate the beautiful site outside the windows. It was surprising that it stopped raining and at that time the sky was bluer after raining. We looked more carefully to confirm if we had made mistakes. The God remembered us and it really stopped raining.
After all the people’s appetite was satisfied, we returned to the buses. The guide spoke again, "Do you know where the first stop of this journey is?" One of us replied, “Cowboy Yu.” Then the guide continued to give us another question, "Do you know what we can play in Cowboy Yu?" Many colleague jumped up and answered: "piāo liu." (piāo in Chinese means drifting), but the guide shook his head and said, "No, we come here to have one experience of 'piáo'.” (In Chinese it means to visit a prostitute. Instead of the first tone, the local people read the character “piao” in the second tone, so the meaning is changed.) Most of the people in the bus were male, so the male colleagues laughed loudly and yelled, "Ok, guide, we are breaking the rule today and 'piáo' once!"
Later we were led to the place and we entered the changing room. All of us changed the clothes, and prepared the related equipments (such as water darts and water pistols) for the drifting.
After a short while, the bus sent us to the starting point of the drifting. It meant we were formally ready to have one experience of "piáo". At the same time we are prepare to "shi shen" (shi shen means the body and clothes get wet, but in Chinese they often are used to express "lose virginity", this works in concert with piáo). All us put on the lifejackets and helmets, and we paired up before entering the rubber boats, in order to increase the security and fun. The majority of the pairs was formed with a man and a woman. It confirmed the saying that when men work with women, no tiredness strikes them.
Colorful rubber boats was driven into a 4.3 km river one by one, which was named Theme Drift Scenic Spot. The floating zone was constructed with the idea of the American western cowboy culture, so the drifting became cowboys’ great adventure! Along the long river there were many games with hard levels, which let us experienced the drifting pleasure which was brought by the creative "stage mode". Passing over the "Bottomless Abyss", rushing into the "a rain of bullets", coming up with "Boiling Water ", each of us played a cowboy role to advance in the game for the final victory .We spent 1.5 hours to reach the end. At this point, those who had joined the game, had a pleasant experience, and would never forget it!
The second stop is "Yao Bonfire Party," where we played with a Yao boy, Gui, and a Yao girl, Sally. They were really hospitable. We danced together hand in hand and drank Yao wine. All of us participated in the Yao bamboo dance and the foot dance. Dancing together with the minorities often increased the unity and friendship.
After singing and dancing, we seemed to have run out of energy. At the dinner time, we boarded a distinctively luxurious cruise liner. We cruised on the calm sea, and enjoyed the local distinctive food. There was slight wind, and colorful sunset glowed. When the sky became light grey in the evening, we had a walk on the soft sands. It was so beautiful and gave us the impression that we were appreciating a picture, and everyone took out their own cameras to take pictures.
At this moment, the sky gradually became dark. We had to return back to the hotel. We gathered together, and talked about the interesting things which had happened in the day. Then we had a good sleep.
The next day, everyone got up early, and had breakfast in a restaurant near the hotel. Next stop was “Bamboo Atmospheres”.
With the improvement of living quality, more and more people pay attention to live a life of green and low carbon cost. The bamboo fiber and bamboo carbon have become a new emerging industry in recent years. Bamboo textiles have been known as "the most developmental prospect in the field of healthy cloth in the 21st century" in the industry. They have several advantages: highly absorbent, easy to clean, highly water absorbent, sweat releasing, antibacterial, deodorizing, and comfort. They are better than the ordinary cotton goods. So many colleagues bought some necessities which were made of bamboo fiber. We all wanted to buy one or more such products as a souvenir for the journey.
After shopping we went to the last place, “NiuYuzui Tourism Scenic Area”. The tourism scenic area was built with the concept “living healthy and fun.” The main part of the entire scenic area was "First Creek in the LingNan ". We could enjoy the the sights including primordial plants and woods there. There were exotic flowers and rare herbs, the old trees and the old vines, picturesque rocks, gurgling water, and singing birds and sweet-scented flowers.
We climbed up along a brook, and saw a clean and deep lake. The scene reminded me of the poem, “Peach Blossom Pool is a thousand feet deep, yet not so deep as Wang Lun’s love for me. And then we went along the brook. This was also just like the old saying, “man struggles upwards; water flows downwards.”
There were purplish red stones, green running water, and many different kinds of original bridges. The natural topography formed lots of waterfalls, and it was indeed a spectacle. Soon, it seemed that we had arrived halfway to the mountain and we heard the sound of great waterfalls. There was a great waterfall before us, as magnificent as the Lushan Fall, which was well-known because of Li Bai’s poems: “the flying torrents dashes down three thousand feet, as if the Milky Way falls from the sky.”
Moving toward the waterfall, we met a cool breeze, and that was amazing. Getting close to the waterfall, we found that the stone was patched with moss behind its back. It felt very cool when we touched the moss. All of us couldn’t help holding the water with both hands and taking a swig. As a result, we really felt very refreshed, and had a high spirit. Sometimes the wave lashed against the rocks softly, but sometimes quite violently.
The sound of water became louder and louder, just like a singer who could not bear loneliness. The sound of both the stream and the waterfall was pleasing to the ear. There were meandering pathways and deep pools. The scenery of both sides of the valley set its beauty off to advantage.
We got to the mountain top successfully after bypassing the great waterfall. Viewing from the top of the mountain, we felt really happy and understood the classic poems: “we shall reach the top and hold all mountains in a single glance.” A brook meandered through the valley. This reminded me of Mao Zedong’s poems: “this land is so rich in beauty, which has made countless heroes bow in homage.”
We had to come back to the gate soon because there was no time. How time flew! The trip finished so fast that everyone wanted to remember all the details in our mind. We took a group photo there.
In the end, we took the travel bus and returned our beautiful city - ShenZhen.
