PSI established our private MIS system during 2012 to 2014. We’ll try to improve the system for 3 major goals this year. The 3 goals are fool-proofing, simplicity and accuracy. Fool-proofing: To reduce the possible mistakes and also remind the staff to modify unreasonable data by fool-proofing setting. Simplicity: The system should be a little bit complex at the beginning. To let the procedure simple is the only way for efficiency. As soon as the teams are familiar with the operation, they will conclude some opinions to simplify the system. PSI will do continuous review and make the system easier to use. Accuracy: Sometimes we got some incorrect input data during the operation stage. It led us to analyze in a wrong way. We’ll monitor the information and improve the accuracy this year.

The media for the information exchange between PSI’s sales and customer’s is email currently. If PSI’s sales have some mistakes, there will be big deviations for the data transfer. To operate in a low volume high mix production mode, one salesman needs to deal with many customers. Too much information input will let sales people easier to make mistake for the information management. Therefore, we have an idea to solve the issue below.

Customer creates a separate database and places all information for PSI as required. PSI’s server will get the information automatically at certain times. and then put the information in the waiting database. Later the authority teams get and process the information from that waiting database. Further more, the server will transfer the information to required area automatically.

Trust by customer and vendor is PSI’s slogan. To have more clear information to vendors and customers is the basis of trust. PSI opened the real time communication system in 2014. Customer can login PSI’s MIS system and get required information as below. Information before production: Scheduling, Shortage list, Consign parts list, etc. Information during production: Real time production status, Yield rate, etc. Information after production: Serial number of shipped goods, Serial number & Date code history tracking system, etc.

Customer can also request PSI do some unique reports for private needs.

It’s difficult to arrange the line manpower for low volume high mix production. Normally, production line will arrange the manpower according to delivery time and workload. Paper SOP can’t be hung on the line correctly by the flexible stations. PSI will plan and finish the plan of eSOP to solve this issue. The system will automatically combine step-by-step eSOP based on number of people. Then display on the LCD panel on every operator.

Common parts will be a little bit different in different place. To persuade customer to use the parts that PSI already used is an advantage to both. It can raise the material turnover rate and also reduce the chance for dead material stock. Therefore, PSI can provide the component database to customer monthly. Customer can select the required material for new product design by the database. We also provide different service for customer after schematics are finished. When customer has the preliminary BOM from development team, PSI can review the BOM with relative vendors and provide some recommendations of material change that are at better price or of better lead time.

AOI has a limitation for character recognition. False judgment rate is a little bit high. The operator needs to confirm the errors from AOI one by one. When the false judgment rate is too high, some real defects will fail to be screened out. PSI will do more detail analysis about the false judgment status this year, and then adjust the AOI program to lower the error rate while raising up the AOI recognition rate.

Vehicle electronic device is a popular product in the electronic field now. To apply ISO16949 is a must to strengthen company’s competition. PSI tries to get the certificate in both Taiwan and China in Q4, 2015.

Higher efficiency in managing the company with modern technology is our other thinking and direction. We built our MIS structure in 2014. Then, we started to build less paper usage system, and more than that, the paperless system. We finished our paperless attendance management system by the end of 2014. We’ll focus on paperless production management report this year.
