1. Your Trust Our Survival
As I mentioned in the last publishing, most of the companies stop to build their own products at home. They outsource the production processes and focus on product developing and marketing creation only. To fill up the portion of business process, Yenom/Pronology established and worked on the manufacturing services. “Your trust, Our Survival” is our company culture. To be an EMS company, we are part of the business chain. If the EMS companies get caught up with some troubles, customer will forfeit about 4-6 months business opportunities because of products insufficiency. That is why we emphasize that we must obtain 100% trust by our customer. We need to provide all of the information, schedule and what customer’s requirement openly and clearly. Deeply thinking about “Your trust, Our Survival” is to be trust by customers, trust our vendors and our employees. Then, everybody can live well.
2. Vision: Guardian of Low to Middle volume and High mix production.
Most of companies like to build the high volume orders. It’s easier to handle the quality and processes. Yenom/Pronology is started from a small scale firm. We have less chance to compete with the giants. From the beginning, we spent many efforts to structure the company management as low volume and high mix model. We have pretty mature ERP system and daily management system to control our flows from order entry, BOM built, working order created, material PO released, material quantity simulated, shortage control up to production schedule control. Because we are talent to manage low to middle volume and high mix products, we set our vision as Guardian of Low to Middle volume and High mix production. Normally, the low volume products mean high end products. So, to be a Guardian of that kind of products is not only management skill, but also stable quality control capabilities. We always expect and try hard to own the capabilities. Hopefully, the people will bring the name “Yenom/Pronology” out while they think about low to middle volume, high quality and high mix productions.
3. Mission in 2011
- MES (Manufacturing Execution System) implement.
* To control the production schedule by detail. Through the shop floor system, to provide real time production quantity and status for schedule control.
* To keep the record of material & products lot number for tracking.
- Auto information transfer system between clients and Yenom
There is too much information coming from clients for low volume high mix production. Yenom/Pronology works with 50 customers in 2010. Every customer has 10-20 products average. The information loading is quite a big issue. We spent a lot of efforts to handle the information these years. To solve the problem, Yenom/Pronology will develop our own control system to transfer customers’ production information to our ERP system automatically this year.
To do the enhancement, we hope there will be always accurate and prompt to transfer the customer’s information to Yenom/Pronology’s system.
- Instant product technical information system implements
This is a project to control the information flow internal in Yenom/Pronology. When Yenom/Pronolgy gets the new information from customer, the information will be put in a certain directory. After another transfer program, all of the information will import to ERP system and merge into working order information list. The staff can be easy to see all of the instant product information to be built from digital Signage system.
4. Quality Assurance
- Execution: SOP & Manufacture engineering system is running accurately.
Yenom/Pronology started to build SOP system in 2008. At the beginning, we built the product working instructions. Then, we expanded the range to production process standard. We accomplished all of our management SOPs in 2010. To follow SOPs for the normal operations, our working qualities are maintained in a stable and high level now.
-Review: To keep progress of the quality level by deviation review monthly.
Yenom/Pronology holds a deviation review meeting every month. The meeting normally discusses the customer complains, internal quality problems, yield rate status, RMA status and IQC status …, etc., through the meeting, we can catch all of our problems and think about the improvement solutions. If it’s a difficult problem or the problem concerns to the management system, we’ll move the topic to our management system review meeting that hold by weekly base.
-Improvement: Management system review meeting weekly.
Yenom/Pronology has a management system review meeting by weekly bases. The major purpose of the meeting is to improve the shortcoming of our management system through the detail discussion of our system flow.
-Audit: To maintain the processes stable by Line audit a periodic twice daily.
People can only follow the rule by a short period if there are no policemen. Same things will be happened in the operations. To prevent the losses and always kept the quality at over a certain level. Yenom/Pronology has a rule to proceed to the line audit a periodic twice every day by QA team.
5. Conclusion
To setup and run a low to middle volume and high mix manufacturing is quite a tough job. Not only needs stable and precise management system, but also needs to have some intelligent team members who can solve all of the deviations by a pretty short time. We, Yenom/Pronology, work on this segment more than 10 years. It’s our properties and our talents to say “we are the guardian of low to middle volume and high mix production.”
