Officially online of EMS dedicated labor production time
system in September 2016

It is very cumbersome to manually fill in reports in traditional manufacturing industries, the operators often have low omissions to fill the reports, and work time is often inaccurate. In addition, it is not efficiently to enter the data one by one, and will be even worse to collect statistics. The traditional way that was established was extremely difficult to implement for production management. In 2012 PSI implemented a new labor production time system, combined with work orders and production schedule; it is the progresses of labor production time automation!
The report of labor production time system was meant to be a simple, but for a small but variety EMS Company, it becomes much more complicated! We need to generate more than one work orders for different manufacturing processes accordingly; thus the reports generated have no value of reference due to inaccurate work time provided. The old system is lack of extensibility and hard to modify, therefore we had made the decision to develop our new labor production time system during 2016, hoping it can implement workers reports automatically, reduce employee loading, immediate display of correct work time and have different management during every manufacturing processes.
After dozens of times of discussions, customizations, testing, and parallel online, the new labor production time system that compatible with PSI’s operating system has finally formally launched in September 2016 that can complete have following functions:
  • Simple and convenient: Owning to operation interfaces and digital monitor became similar, enter information that includes: work orders nr, quantity and production line etc…became much easier and simpler, in the future, we can check more information with this new system such as how many reports we received during previous action, we can also discover the amount of goods, and the entire manufacturing process more efficient now.
  • Combining with ERP working sheets controls, and examine the data timely let the correctness of those data reach the expectation of production line manager.
  • Now there is no need to change to a different system to verify work report sheets, we can also monitor the product real time, and produced by which equipment and how long it takes to produce.
We are still working on this new system, taking it to a higher level. We are aimingto have all information of reports go into data base immediately and combine ERP accounting to generate products WIP reports automatically.
