Spot Market Materials Management Automation

The PSI’s production method is a low quantity and variety style, which also meet the customer's urgent single demand, in a short period of time to complete the material kitting and product delivery. It needs to be obtained from another pathway, known as spot material, when the material which delivery time is too long and can’t meet the request of material kitting.
In addition to without the MOQ requirements, the most important to the spot material is the quality risk of the source, overdue and preservation. The PSI’s management of spot materials was used the manually control in the early period, but we had completed the automation of spot materials management in the 2018 Q1. In addition to reducing manpower in processing data integration, its automation also increases the years of data retention, real-time processing capabilities and the accuracy of work order tracking, etc., and reduces the quality risk of the use of spot material.

The related process of automated management of spot materials is as follows:

  1. Purchasing Department:
    Marked "PO + part number" as a spot material in the TIPTOP system.
  2. IQC Department:
    After entering the IQC quality record maintenance operation module of the TIPTOP system, if the material is in stock, a red frame mark will appear on the diagram as Figure 1, and it must fill material of the Date code & Marking as Figure 2 red box, then it will be sent by the system to notify the next operation department.

  5. Total warehouse & site warehouse units:
    After receiving the information from the system that sent the IQC to complete the acceptance as Figure 3, the warehouse will assign the spot material to use the work order/product name/quantity. After filling in, the system will notify the next operating department.

  7. Production and Quality Department:
    After receiving the information on the distribution of the work orders of the spot material after the completion of the system notification warehouse (as shown in Figure 4), the functional test/reliability test results of the work orders assigned to the spot material are recorded as future information traceability
