Roaming on Kuk-to, Penghu
Author: Alex
After a year of hard work, I can relax during the May Day holiday finally.
The destination of our trip is located in Penghu. Why did we go to Penghu? The main reason is that everyone cannot go abroad due to the epidemic, so the colleagues of the welfare committee voted for Penghu, and let everyone take a plane to miss the feeling of flying. However, we arrived Penghu very soon.
Our first day of itinerary is about to begin! As soon as I got out of the airport, the tour guide said that the weather was good, and we changed the itinerary to Chimi. Twin Heart Stone Weir in Chimi is a classic attraction in Penghu, and it also represents the island culture of Penghu. The Stone Weir was built by villagers in Penghu using basalt and coral reefs in the intertidal zone, and used the tidal range of the sea to fish. Among them, the Stone Weir with the most special and well-preserved shape is Chimi. This Twin Heart Stone Weir, which is covered with two hearts, is the scenery that influencer wants to take pictures. Of course, they all came, that is to say we must shoot crazy. Take good shots!
On the second day, the schedule was Chimi. We were so lucky that we had already been there yesterday, because the waves were unusually large today, and the boat would be very swaying. The itinerary was Kuibishan Geopark today. The Kuibishan is a magical attraction that every traveler must follow when visiting Penghu. Only when the tide is low does the central road appear, so that we can walk to the small islands on the opposite bank and walk on the road in the sea, as if returning to the "Old Testament " more than 3,000 years ago. The classic legend recorded in the "Exodus" of Kuibishan Geopark.
I visited Tianhou Temple which located in Magong, and walked through the central old streets of many historical years, the four-hole well dug in the Qing Dynasty, and the "Wanjun Well" full of Shi Lang's legendary story, which allowed me to understand the history of Magong in the past.
The third day of the itinerary is also the longest day of the Penghu Great Bridge, which connecting Baisha and Xiyu islands. There is a turbulent "Hoomen Waterway" between the islands. Since ancient times, the waters of Penghu have been described as dangerous waters by proverbs such as "one squat, two roars, three west flows, four goose bean heads, five tan gates and six east auspiciousness." The average flow velocity is as high as 3 meters per second. In winter, wind and waves bounce and walruses are even worse. Therefore, the construction environment can be described as very severe.
After going to the Penghu Great Bridge, it means that our journey will soon come to an end. After these 3 days and 2 nights of play, we also took a lot of photos and let us experience a different life. Thank you to all colleagues who traveled together. We take care of each other to make this trip even more memorable and give us a chance to meet again next time!
