Management of Material Control System

In order to meet the target of PSI services policy, which is high mix & low volume, we must have a very good material control as the key point toward success. With the growing of the company and each division, PSI has recently setup a new department named “Material control”.
For the overall view about management of Material control system, PSI is the ISO9001 certificated company. We have established SOP for 'Material control management ’. Through the support and utilizing ERP system, we have made the material control be more meticulous, and provided our customers with the best services.
First, Materials control for parts shortage:
Simulated materials shortage list – Since PSI takes high mix and low volume orders, we run the materials shortage list by ERP system. And purchasers reply E.T.A. for turnkey parts. Sales reply the E.T.A for consigned parts. Material controller plays a role as coordinator, providing updated status of all materials to Sales, then Sales has to discuss with customer for the best delivery date adjustment.
The report of simulated materials shortage has been processed for years. It can provide useful information for material control and always works as the most efficient system for PSI to communicate with its customers.
Second, stock control:
PSI provides the following reports for consign material.
1, Customer’s consigned material transaction list (daily)
2, Defective consigned parts list (weekly)
3, Stock level report of customer consigned material (monthly)
With the documents, our clients can get the most updated info. about consigned parts anytime.

Dead stock material – Without any transaction within six months. Material controller gives the report to purchaser and sales for confirmation, then, asks customer to purchase the dead stock by return.
Current materials – running unique part list.
Customer can get the useful information to know about current unique part’s quantity and total stock amount.
