Introduction of Production Technology Engineering
Author:Tony Liu
PSI Engineering includes two teams:
1. Electrical Production Technician
Those who are responsible for the technique transition for the clients during testing process.
2. Product Repairman
Those who are responsible for fixing problems happened in production.
Procedure:
A. Receiving orders → B. Developing related technique information → C. Technique transition of production process →
D. Pre-Production preparation → E. The first article process → F. Simulate/Set up production process → G. Evaluating working time of each production process → H. Internalizing SOP
-
Procedure Explanation:
- A. Receiving orders. Purpose:To inform the related departments about the product orders.
- A-1. Salesmen to enter the clients’ orders into ERP system.
- A-2. To get the order information through ERP system.
- B. To issue technical information. Purpose:To inform the product technician about the product-related technical knowledge.
- B-1. Marketing Department receives the information from the Sales Department and then issues it out.
- B-2. The important files of test process including BOM, SOP, Production details….etc.
- C. Technique transition of production process. Purpose:To transit the related techniques to the online engineers.
- C-1. Arrange transition from clients to the internal technicians.
- C-2. Through the transition process, we could understand about the advantages and features of the products.
- D. Pre-production preparation. Purpose:To speed up the production progress.
- D-1. Using SOP and making sure that the correct procedure to be followed.
- D-2. Prepare the equipment for testing.
- E. To make the first article. Purpose:To detect and resolve any production problems.
- E-1. Follow the SOP and make five pieces of first articles.
- E-2. If there are three defective pieces of first article, need to make five more to see if there is a problem with yield rate.
- E-3. If the first article has a problem, to analyze the problem, notify QC and continue followup.
- F. Simulate and set up production mode. Purpose:To set up a smooth and efficient production procedure to increase capacity.
- F-1. Follow SOP to establish a production procedure.
- F-2. Simulate and review to see if there is any production issue and fix it in a timely manner.
- G. To calculate and provide working hours. Purpose:To get a better manpower arrangement and ensure to reach capacity.
- G-1. Before the first batch shipment is done, to provide the sales department with the working hours in order to complete quotation. Engineering can follow the working hours report to estimate and plan the production capacity.
- H. To internalize SOP. Purpose:Transform clients’ SOP to the PSI format, and make it easier to understand.
- H-1. To internalize the SOP before mass production.
