It was supposed to introduce a new ERP system in middle of 2012 but the ERP system still has a lot of functional problems. For this system, it seems that it is too new to overcome the challenge in the current market. Therefore, it was not able to reach our expectation. Due to its poor performance, the whole schedule for introducing the system was postponed in the beginning of 2012. Accordingly, the company’s executive team decided to introduce another ERP system in order to satisfy the demand for better integration with the MIS system, and to reach a higher level of automation systems and produce process flow.
Because of the previous experience of failure, the evaluation team had more clear goals and knowledge. Thus in this project we find the software management company, Data Systems Consulting (DSC), as our cooperate partner: DSC has developed a series of systems and cooperated with a great number of public companies. Especially for TIPTOP system which is very popular and occupied relative high ratio in ERP market. DSC is a professional company, both the sales representative and pre-sale advisors work hard to solve issues and answer relative questions for us. It makes all PSI senior managers feel confident about the introduction of the new TIPTOP system. We all believe the DSC TIPTOP system will replace the original system in the beginning of 2013.
Both PSI and DSC will face big challenge when there is the switching between the old and the new system. Fortunately, the DSC is an experienced consult team in the ERP project. The DSC and the ERP project committee of PSI together set up whole education plan. The meeting between the consultants and the PSI key users is the first step of whole introduction plan. During the learning process, the PSI key users not only could log in DSC E-learning system to learn the basics of the operation but also receive answers immediately after learning from the E-serve.
After the successful completion of system integration testing, the project stage now moves to the analysis of the difference between the new and the old systems. Because the previous issues, such as complete process and specifications have been resolved, under the DSC consultant team’s full support, it makes whole customization program nearly completed. Due to the current progression, PSI's staff feels the success just in the near future.
